Resumen:
The Geographical Information Distributed Systems (GIDS) can be used by people of different areas, to obtain access through the web to certain geographical and alphanumeric information, distributed in many different locals. The part of the system which the users interact is the interface. It is very important for the GIDS´s usability, and certainly a not very well-designed interface prejudice the use of the system and consequently, the user's satisfaction. The user's interaction with the system needs to be better studied and planned, due to the fact that there are peculiar interaction difficulties in systems like that. In such way, this work evidences the importance and the need of the use of Software Design concepts (Design’s domains, Ergonomy and Human-Computer Interaction) during the development of projects and in the search of guidelines to the development of web GIDS with high Usability level. A set of guidelines for GIDS´s project is proposed. These guidelines was proposed from the concepts about Geomathic, Software Design, Quality, Usability Tests performed on geographical information systems in the Internet, study about the interaction problems and the user’s needs and expectations. These guidelines are used in the suggestion of the design interface for GIDS-PB (Geographical Information Distributed System for the Integrated Development of the State of Paraíba) and in the recommendations for the analyzed systems.
