Resumo:
The present dissertation presents contributions to the resonance determination in surface
plasmon resonance based sensors. Three contributions are presented: i) a method for
tracking the resonance condition based on a single approximation a cosinusoidal function,
this method is computationally efficient and presents robustness against disturbances; ii) a,
linear parameter regression construction for the resonance curve fitting as improvement for
an existing method in literature, the regression presents some advantages, such as better
response time, simple implementation and no dependence of initial parameter choice;
and iii) an algorithm based on ants behavior to determine the resonance in images, the
algorithm can be applied without the need to improve the image quality and i t does not
require normalization of the obtained data to be applied. All approaches were tested by
simulations and experiments. The results served to show the validity of the developed
algorithms, as well as its effectiveness in determining the resonant condition.
