Resumo:
The Gestational Diabetes Mellitus is set as any level of intolerance to carbohydrates, resulting in hyperglycemia of variable severity with onset or diagnosis during pregnancy. It’s characterized as one of the most common clinical abnormalities in pregnancy, resulting in severe maternal complicationsand fetal health. For this reason, this study aimed to analyze the contributions of national scientific production about GMD during the period 2008 to 2012. It is an integrative literature review, research mode that lets you perform a synthesis of scientific knowledge related to a specific topic, from the summarization of conclusions of studies previously conducted. For both, online searches were conducted in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), with use of journals indexed in Scielo and LILACS databases. The sample was created by 48 productions that if framed in the following inclusion criteria: have been published during the period established in article in scientific journals, and is available in full and in the Portuguese language. Were excluded from the research summaries, updates, editorials, dissertations, theses or any other study that is not suited to inclusion criteria. Based on an instrument made by the researcher, the analysis was carried out and then discussed in the light of relevant literature. The results showed that the journal with the highest number of publications was the Brazilian Journal of Gynecology and obstetrics, representing 22.9% of the sample; the year 2011 has 15 publications in total; that one of the regions, the Southeast excelled with 21 works published; that the predominant study mode was to original research, present in 29 articles; that in relation to methodological approach, it was found that 29 were quantitative in nature studies while 19 were qualitative. The productions were characterized in four thematic areas: AT1-GMD-related Risk factors; AT2-criteria for tracing and diagnosis of GMD; AT3-Types of treatment Used in the GMD and AT4-Innovative research on the GMD. Through detailed analysis, inferred that the GMD study are several contributions related to diagnostic, therapeutic and obstetric ducts to be employed in the pre-natal, childbirth and the puerperium, prevention, control and treatment of the complications arising from the same. In addition, showed greater scientific interest through the targeting of new research, findings that may promote the knowledge about the GMD. Thus, this integrative review allowed size and analyze the scientific literature about the Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, building from this, a synthesis of scientific knowledge related to this further still so common in pregnancy.
