Abstract:
In order to observe the variations of the water tables during the research years, 8
(eight) soundings in the study area were carried out in the period from 05-08-1996 to
13-08-96. besides the "aproveitamento" of 4 existent amazonas wells. A complete
topographical survey of the selected area was done, where an automatic pluviometer was
installed to avaliate the pluviornetric rate, and volumetric rate measurements were done
during the low water months downstream "alluvials dam B i , that exists in the outflow
of the pilote aquifer. Along the study area in a 5 km space, three submersed dams exist,
where wells were installed : estrategic upstream and downstream each dam.
All these field data were used as input data for a numerical simulation model of
the spatial and temporal hydrological behaviour, considering non-steady state
bidimensional flow anisotropic and heterogeneous.
The results obtained with that model satisfectoralry reproduced the field data
observed, and were used to estimate the principal hydrological parameters, as well as the
amount of available water in the selected space.
The methodology applied will allow future hydrological investigations to be done
at very low cost and a little period for the other shallow aquifers, typical of the
Northeast, as will also be used as a model of the behaviour of the underground water
flows in the shallow alluvial aquifers .
