Abstract:
Adolescence is a stage of life between childhood and adulthood, marked by a complex process of growth and biopsychosocial development. It is essential that the health of this population segment to guide the construction of strategies, mainly for health promotion in preventing the injuries and illnesses. This study aims to know the actions performed by nurses of the Family Health Strategy in the health care of adolescents. This is a qualitative research, descriptive, conducted with 10 nurses from the Family Health Strategy in Campina Grande - PB, in the period July-August 2013. We followed the ethical principles of Resolution 466/2012. Material collection was conducted through semi-structured interview, which used an audio recorder. It was first performed to characterize the participants in relation to social and professional to meet the proposed objective analytical categories were created using the technique of content analysis of Bardin. The sample proved to be predominantly female and in productive age and half of the participants had completed specialization. As for the actions performed by nurses, it was noted in the reports difficulties imprint organizational structure for the development and promotion activities for adolescent health. Actions, in turn, were carried out fast and sporadic forms, thus being professionals geared mostly for healthcare practices. We also observed the lack of training in the area and no realization or implementation of actions developed by the School Health Program. It is clear, therefore, that it is necessary to train professionals for the ESF that can meet young people in its entirety, providing suitable environment and private, and to undertake educational activities essential to the biopsychosocial development of the adolescent. There fore , it is necessary to raise awareness of family health teams and managers to the need to work with young people in order to minimize social and health problems that affect this population so peculiar .
