Resumen:
This research aims at analyzing the representations dinlt in the press constructed about Bossa Nova, considering the fact that this genre / musical movement was featured in magazines and newspapper from Rio de Janeiro from the second half of the twentieth century (1959- 1963). Through discussions about Bossa Nova, the objective is to question how an urban middle class ascendant sought to express it as a popular production that affected the whole society. In this sense, through the contributions of the New Cultural History, the concepts of representation and strategy will be discussed and operationalized through the contributions of Roger Chartier and Michel de Certeau, respectively, so that the ways in which the promoters of bossa will be identified and analyzed new look sought to be evident, breaking with the musical production of the time. Through musical transformations and new thematic approaches, the musicians of bossa nova had through the printed ones the possibility of highlighting their musical production, although, practically not consumed by a large part of the population.
