Resumo:
The objective of this work was the development of a prototype mill for the production of ornamental pebbles. Several types of minerals were tested, where two presented
satisfactory rounding and polishing, limestone and quartz, with utilization of 58% and 65%, respectively. The materials used were from the Municipality of Pedra Lavrada PB. In the methodology used in the production of the pebbles, the residence time, the filling factor, the mill feed size, abrasive types, mill rotation speed and water volume were analyzed. From the results obtained in this work the following conclusions were drawn: It is feasible to make the preservation of the environment compatible with the production of mineral goods, turning quarry residues into ornamental pebbles, destroying the waste and encouraging entrepreneurs to reduce environmental damage from extraction. of rocks for ornamental purposes.
