Resumo:
This paper discusses the practical application of the continuous improvement method in mining, in a case study, where, at first, it is not known what is the main cause of
fulfillment of the goals set by the planning department of an underground mine, more precisely in the development sector of Mineração Caraba SA. With the application of the "PDCA" method, one finds the main reason for the less than expected advance, obtained in the development of the main access panel (east and west) of the 7th mining panel, detecting the problems and sorting them by priority. , giving the appropriate solutions. As a solution, in the main case, the Destress Blasting method, which is a strain relief hole method, was applied. Following, other situations were detected that obstructed the accomplishment of the goals and their results, which were also resolved.
