Résumé:
This work aimed to determine heavy metals in Acude waters
Old from the municipality of Campina Grande - PB. Along with the determination,
their contents for verification of the risks to life and the environment in accordance with
environmental legislation (357/2005 CONAMA). Three periods of
collection and eight sampling bridges on the banks of the dam. One liter of water was collected
from each point where each sample was filtered and treated with 50% nitric acid,
later, they were analyzed by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. The
The results showed the existence of cadmium and copper at concentrations not
equaled or exceeded those determined by CONAMA. The point determined as
P5 presented the highest rate of these contaminants during the collection periods, where
It features the installation of commercial bridges (bars and cafeterias). One of
likely sources of cadmium contamination are PET bottle labels that are
discarded in the waters of the acude that, in analysis, presented cadmium concentrations
on all the different labels searched. Copper may have as sources
contaminants, submerged metal wastes and others originating from the galleries
reservoir supply It can be concluded that even being in small
concentrations, copper and cadmium metals present a potential environmental hazard as
that they have the capacity to expand in trophic relations and persist in the environment
unchanged. The risk is most worrying about the fishermen who
commercialize and consume the fish in this reservoir.
further research to broaden information on the pollutants and risks present in the
Old dam waters.
