Palavras no cordão: Leandro Gomes de Barros e a passagem da literatura oral para a literatura oral escrita (cordel, 1893-1910).

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the changes occurring in the oral literature in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, with regard to the passage of oral literature to literature oral written, through the string. In this sense, the issue of this paper examines the role played by cordelist Leandro Gomes de Barros in the process, in the same period to the beginning of the 90s of the XIX century and the first decade of this century later. The theoretical background of this research was guided by notions of popular culture, oral literature and oral literature written. From this perspective, were instrumental in producing this work works as: "The culture in the plural," of Certeau, "Oral Literature in Brazil" and "Five books of the people," of Cascudo, "What is popular literature" by Luyten; "The invention of the Northeast and other arts," of Albuquerque Junior; "Arcanos of the verse: trajectories of string literature," of Melo, "History of Brazil in string," of Curran; "Memory struggles: literature handouts Northeast (1893 - 1930), of Terra; "The old Arrial of Piranhas (Pombal)," of Seixas. Data collection was obtained through literature review conducted in the library of the Federal University of Campina Grande, Campus Cajazeiras and the House of Culture in Pombal. Besides brochures provided by individuals, "Pombal singing in verse," of the Pombalense cordelist José de Sousa Dantas, and "String in art and verse," of Moreira de Acopiara. Both strings were used to reinforce the importance of Leandro Gomes de Barros for the emergence of popular literature written.
