Resumo:
The admission of women in the cangaço not only changed the way the gangs lived, but also the writing about the theme, especially in regard to the comprehension that cangaceiras women subverted a social reality in which they were conditioned to housework. This work problematizes discourses and images formulated by experts and cordelistas who wrote about the romance between Lampião and Maria Bonita. The research considered statements which have been responsible for the production of these images, to realize how they interfere in the social imagery about cangaço. This work is a literature review based on books written by some memoirists, by academic scholars, besides cordel literature.
