Resumo:
The toughening of poiyamide 6 is desirable for many applications and can be obtained by adding one phase to the eiastomeric matrix. However, this leads to a loss in their stiffness. Therefore, the aim of this work was to develop of poiyamide 6/compound by recycled rubber blends (SBR-R), with the addition of compatibilizer by the method of mixing in the molten state, in order to achieve a balance between stiffness and toughness properties. The systems were prepared in various compositions and their rheological properties were studied by means of curves obtained from torque rheometer. PA6/SBR-R/
compatibilizer blends and their properties were analyzed by means of mechanical tests (tensile and Izod impact), dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA), heat deflection temperature (HDT), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the impact strength and elastic modulus of the compatibiiized blends decreased slightly compared to poiyamide 6. Therefore, these results indicate a good prospect of application of industrial waste, minimizing the negative effect on the environment and adding value to a disposable material.
