Resumo:
This work aimed the introurban analysis of the socioeconomic aspects of the city of Pombal located in the Paraíba hinterland that depending on their state may expose the population of the city to risk situations. To this end, the work was based on the propositions made by the Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Schedule, helping to elaborate a Social Vulnerability Index (IVS) to classify the vulnerability situation of the urban area in the municipality. Based on the 2000 and 2010 Population Census data, the IVS for the respective years was calculated for the census tracts that make up the city's urban perimeter. Based on this index, some sectors in the Centro and Jardim Rogério neighborhoods performed relatively well, while some sectors in the Nova Vida and Pereiros neighborhoods appear to be in a bad situation even with one of their sectors appearing among the best in the overall ranking. In order to generate information for the public authorities to perform measures to reduce social inequalities, the IVS appears as an alternative generating data that can support decision making at the time of application of resources.
