Resumo:
Hospitalization translates as a very difficult experience for the child and family, which experienced major changes not only in everyday life, but also in relationships and feelings experienced among its members. The effective coping and adjustments arising from the hospitalization of the family require the development of skills to cope with the pressures and difficulties encountered in daily life. In this sense, the companions, usually parents, can offer significant contributions to the identification of conflicts and changes in family child during hospitalization. Objective: To understand the perceptions of caregivers about humanized care in nursing for hospitalized children. Methodology: This was an exploratory descriptive study with qualitative approach performed with 10 caregivers of children admitted to the Pediatric Unit of the Municipal Hospital and Maternity cuite. Data collection lasted three months being held from November 2011 to January 2012. The instrument used included objective and subjective questions involving the identification and characterization of socio-demographic as well as informants related to the central theme of the study. For the qualitative treatment of the data we used the technique of content analysis in thematic. The research protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee and Research Colleges of Nursing and Medicine New Hope (FACENE / FAMENE) in Protocol 192/11. Results: The analysis of the interviews allowed the development of two units of meaning entitled: "The impact of hospitalization of children in family routine" and "The care of hospitalized children." From the first, we created three categories (Amendment on the family caused by hospitalization, maternal overload in the care of hospitalized children and family as an important support network) that portrayed the perceptions of participants on the implications suffered by the family in relation to changes in daily routine as well as on its participation in the process of care. To enable further discussion emerged about the second two core categories (assistance received and dialogical relationship between professional caregivers and the child: facilitating factors for the humanization "and" Institutional Conditions: hindering aspects to a humanized) which portray about the factors facilitators and hampered for a humanized perceived by caregivers. Conclusion: It is clear that the process of hospitalization among relatives causes the reversal of roles, the need for adjustments to the rules and hospital routines and an important social and psychological adjustment. In addition, factors were identified as facilitators and difficulties to a humanized, making us realize that the pursuit of quality and humanization of care provided is still a challenge that we face.
