Acanthaceae A. Juss. no Horto Florestal Olho D’Água da Bica – Cuité - PB.

Abstract

This work deals a taxonomic survey of Acanthaceae A. Juss. in the Horto Florestal Olho D’Água da Bica, a bushy-woody caatinga area located in the southern slope of the elevation of Cuité, in the Paraíba state. Its aims to contribute to the knowledge of the flora of Caatinga, particularly from Curimataú Paraibano, micro region where is located the county of Cuité. For this, collections were made monthly whose material was identified, treated according to the usual rules of preservation and incorporated to the Education and Health Center Herbarium of Campina Grande Federal University. Six species were found in the study area: Dicliptera mucronifolia Nees, Justicia aequilabris (Nees) Lindau, Justicia thunbergioides (Lindau) Leonard, Ruellia asperula (Mart. & Nees) Lindau, Ruellia bahiensis (Nees) Morong and Ruellia paniculata L. We also present comments, identification keys and data about ecology and geographic distribution of the taxa.
