Resumo:
The knowledge of the climatic conditions of a city is the mainstay for the
conception of construction projects: to inhabiting confortably built spaces depends on
architectural formulations, that should be, besides satisfying the users's needs, fitted to the
locality environmental characteristics. With these considerations in mind, it should also
imply in the construction planning of low energy consumption buildings. Using
meteorological data from determined day times - 9:00 h, 15:00 h and 21:00 h - of the
period between 1995 and 1999, registered in the Embrapa station of Campina Grande city,
Paraiba, Brazil, this research had as objective to offer subsidies for a better planning of
constructions, through the behavior analysis of climatic elements, aiming the higro-thermal
human comfort, as well as a better building energy performance. Besides the studies of the
temperature, relative air humidity and ventilation, it was also investigated the effects of the
real insolation and the maximum insolation reason (n/N) on the averages of the daily
temperatures, for the recognition of a comfort zone for this climatic variable. The research
observed that in the January afternoons thermal discomfort because of high temperatures
occurred. In July, despite no high temperatures, there was higro-thermal discomfort from
18:30 h to 9:00 h for low temperatures and high relative air humidity levels in these
periods of the days.
