Résumé:
The objective of this work to study the types and animal welfare facilities of
the major parks of exposure of the states of Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba, Pernambuco
and Ceara. Featuring architectural and qualitative aspects of the parks for the goats and
sheep, describing the mains and sewers, water supply, lighting, bed and bathroom for
handlers and the general public, check the facilities in relation to the size of the bay,
orientation, coverage , flooring, fencing, roof shape, finish, equipment such as drinkers,
feeders, footbaths and carbaths, docks, hay and feed room, living room and veterinary
pharmacy, dairy room for the tournament, the surrounding landscaping, bathing area for
the animals. Assess whether the animals suffer a deprivation of any "five freedoms",
making sure the facilities are appropriate within the ideal parameters of animals'
comfort, safety and health during the event. We used a model, as well as the visual and
photographic records of all problems encountered during the events that have been
farming: Sao Paulo do Potengi, Expoleilao, Caico, Currais Novos, Lajes, Mossoro,
Campina Grande, Ceara, Joao Pessoa, Passagem, Recife, Arco Verde, Garanhus. It was
made a general table, where were compared the 14 parks and its 22 items. The
classification of parks was through score for each item and then were assigned
specifically for these concepts score 0-10: 0-2 points is considered regular, 3-5 good, 6-
8 very good, and 9-10 excellent. It was found that at least 50% of the parks studied
didn't have any specific care with animals' welfare, health and accommodation,
requiring a greater infrastructure, technical, scientific and financial investments. 36%
had satisfactory results, were judged good, needs only to make some adjustments on the
premises and little investment. 7% was considered excellent, needs a few adjustments
and the remaining 7% was excellent, just a few items need to be adapted. To have a
better adequacy of the parks, there should be affiliated to the competent organs of
MAP A, a better surveillance in order to reduce all problems related to infrastructure and
welfare in the parks studied.
