Résumé:
The male population perceive health care as something that is not peculiar to their condition of masculinity, since men ignore the importance of prevention of harm to their health, as well as the way the health service arises, causing feelings of intimidation and alienation. Such an attitude makes these men unaware of the potential of the Family Health Strategy as a promoter of health, resulting in a male population vulnerable to high mortality rates. Nevertheless, it is assumed that humanization is the instrument for the capture and arrest of this man. Thus, the present study broadly aimed at knowing the health needs, barriers and coping strategies for comprehensive health care and human to be a man. To achieve the proposed objectives, this study was a descriptive, exploratory qualitative approach, developed with 10 men in the group of 72 disciples of the Catholic Church Cuite-PB, from a semistructured interview developed by the researcher. The collection was started only in February this year after approval by the Research Ethics Committee following the ethical principles established by Resolution No. 196/96. After collecting data, the lines were analyzed in the light of the theoretical framework using the technique of content analysis proposed by Bardin (2009). The results show that exposes the male population needs so retracted, emphasizing much demand for curative health services, focusing only on the doctor, knowing the importance of prevention and health promotion. The difficulties apprehended in this research, called for barriers to non-compliance of the male population in primary health care are related to the male culture and needs of resolvability not exposed through the shame of being exposed and impatience faced by them, while waiting for attendance. Coping strategies proposed by them were specified from the humanization of health through access, hosting, communication and relationship between staff and users. Given the above, it was identified that the creation of the Policy for Integral Health of Man was not enough to put the man in the context of health. Thus, it is proposed to change the health care model, since it is evident that the team that makes up the Family Health Strategy has strong influence and importance to the policy occurs, together with the male population.
