Abstract:
INTRODUCTION: The prevalence of Sexually Transmitted Infections continues to grow worldwide, among these, we can highlight the Syphilis that in Brazil has taken a large proportion in the last years especially if it occurs during gestation, which in turn can cause various disorders such as abortion , stillbirths, as well as problems to the baby after birth. OBJECTIVE: To validate an educational primer on syphilis during pregnancy. METHODOLOGY: This is a methodological study of a qualitative approach that seeks to validate the content of an educational booklet. For the validation the Delphi technique was used, which is based on obtaining a consensus from a group of experts in the area of the study in question. The study was developed from March 2018 to May 2018 and 50 experts were selected after curriculum analysis at the Lattes Platform and submitted to the Ectca Research Committee of the Federal University of Piauí, with a Presentation Certificate for Assessment Ethics No.: 39565414.2.000.5214. The population was composed by specialists in the area of interest of the study, in which the sample was random, unintentional and non-probabilistic. A letter of invitation was sent by e-mail to the judges and after the invitation was accepted, the Free and Informed Consent Form was sent, so that the consent was obtained and then, access to the booklet and the questionnaire to evaluate it. At the end of the survey a total of 21 judges accepted, but only nine completed the validation. RESULTS: The nine judges are nurses, eight of whom are teachers and one nurse. Eight are doctors and one is master, they all act in one or more areas related to this study which reveals property of these specialists. The training time of the judges has an average of 13.3 years. The judges evaluated the educational booklet for the objectives and all were validated as it was considered "Fully Adequate" or "Appropriate" by at least half plus one of the experts. The item referring to the content, considered to a large extent, the booklet as validated, but in some points it needed to be improved. It was unanimously observed that the information in the booklet was scientifically correct. Regarding the relevance of the study, they validated the item and were categorical when making their suggestions and affirmed to be a relevant initiative for nursing as well as the importance of the booklet in the national public health scenario. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The present work of completion of course fulfilled with its objective to validate an educative booklet previously constructed on syphilis in the gestation. It is expected that the use of this educational primer may contribute to the change in the congenital syphilis paradigm. It is hoped that this work may arouse the interest of other nurses professionals to develop similar studies, seeking better health conditions for the population besides enhancing nursing as a science.
