Actually in the world aviculture is indispensable the use of vertical silo and with this
several problems are detected in the storage and discharge of the ration, where
imperfections in the bin project are detected for the neglected and not knowledge of the
properties and of the theory o f flow of the products. These problems are due formation
of cohesive arches and effect tube. The objective of this work was the analysis of the
flow type in prismatic silo with eccentric discharge for two types of avian rations.
Determined the physical properties (fat content, moisture content and granulometry) and
of flow angle of friction internal, effective angle of internal friction, angle of friction of
the product with the wall, density in function of the consolidation, function flow and
factor flow) across the equipment Jenike Shear Cell. The flow type was analyzed for the
two rations, through photographic sequences, varying the transverse section of
discharge, relationship height/side and time of storage and finally determined the mear
rate of flow of discharge. The angles of instantaneous internal friction and with
consolidation of 12 hours of the ration 1 varied in the interval from 33 to 39° and from
40 to 45°, respectively. For the ration 2 the results of the angles of instantaneous internal
friction and with consolidation of 12 hours were in the interval from 43 to 46° and from
46 to 48°, respectively. The effective angles of instantaneous internal friction and with
consolidation of 12 hours of the ration 1 were in the intervals from 43 to 44° and 49 and
51°, respectively. Already the ration 2 results obtained for the same instantaneous angle
and with consolidation of 12 hours that were between 46 and 49° and 49 and 51°. The
hopper in form of eccentric pyramidal provided mass flow for the two rations. The flow
type was influenced by the area of the transversal section of the discharge hole and for
the time of storage. The mear rate of flow of discharge was affected by the time of
storage, transversal section of discharge and fat content.
