Abstract:
The professional teachers, especially basic education in Brazil, over the years they see facing high levels of devaluation. These professionals are not having the recognition of their profession, nor by the public educational policies, nor by society itself that has the undeserved social value that the profession offers. Thus, this situation has generated these professionals demotivation. However, in contrast to the unmotivated teachers, who no longer believe in the possibility of professional development, there are still those who have not given up the fight for a quality education, and believe that one day this profession have the recognition they deserve. In view of the above, a search was conducted with the objective of analyzing the factors among which the main motivation of the teacher in the prevailing and which still motivate these professionals to continue in the profession. This research began before the discovery of complaints of a majority of teachers at a public school. This finding, in turn, began in the period of observation conducted in the discipline of supervised internship I was offered the Bachelor of Biological Sciences, Federal University of Campina Grande - Campus Cuité. The research was conducted in a State School of Barra de Santa Rosa, a city in the state of Paraiba. The data collection was made from field notes and questionnaires with 14 of the 24 teachers at the school during the months of December 2012 and February 2013. These questionnaires contained 10 questions involving motivation, motivation, and the relationship of the teacher with the teaching and learning were analyzed qualitatively. The analysis revealed that most teachers feel disheartened mainly by low wages, working double shifts and the indiscipline of pupils. According to the teachers, yet the factors that motivate them are related with the satisfaction they feel in performing the activity, in order to contribute to student learning. The data reinforce the need to be created and enforced, laws that ensure teacher appreciation, because education is now viewed by society as a primary factor for the development of the country, and the teacher is the key element that changes can be performed. Therefore, it is the duty of the State and society, value the teaching profession, providing him adequate working conditions and recognizing the social value of this profession.
