Abstract:
This research aims to verify the general contributions, limits and potential of the Group of pregnant women in the municipality of Picuí - PB while supplementary allowance to prenatal care. This is an exploratory study from the perspective of quantitative and qualitative approach. The research was conducted on a group of Pregnant County Picuí-PB, whose meetings are held monthly and the data collection took place from February to March this year, being grouped according to the technique of collective subject discourse. The population consisted of all women who participated in the meetings of the Group of Pregnant Women and the sample was composed of those who wished to freely participate in the study, being over 18 years and with minimum of three meetings in Pregnancy Group. The instrument used for data collection was a structured interview-type semi-structured guided from the research objectives. Based on the results, the discourses of collective subjects formulated from the speech of individual collaborative study showed that knowledge of them about the meaning of Group of Pregnant Women, as well, that this is the complement in prenatal care and better living pregnancy as a result of participation in group meetings. The research points to the important contribution of the Group of Pregnant in question for a safer and more informed experience of pregnancy and childbirth the same participants, this being seen as a scenario that would allow the socialization experiences of pregnancy, the exchange of experiences and knowledge, making pregnant women active in this process.
