Resumo:
The study aimed to evaluate the effect of the EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) ceiling
on the performance of environmental conditions inside livestock feeding operations, using
reduced models. The thermal comfort environment principle was assessed by the index of
temperature and moisture (ITM), the index of black globe temperature and humidity
(IBGTU), the thermal load radiation (TRL) and the relative humidity (RH) In the rainy
season and dry season. This work was carried out in reduced models: without EVA ceiling
(WIC) and with EVA ceiling (WOC), both were built geometrically similar in a scale of
1:10, and had a cross-section module for current animal barns with the following
characteristics: two roof planes, width of 20.0 m, foot-right of 3.5 m, 1.0 m of overhang,
and a roof covered with zinc tiles at a 15° inclination. To characterize the thermal
environment, measurements were recorded during each trial, 25 days In the rainy season
and 25 days in the dry season, measuring the inside of the bam and the roof in ten minutes
intervals. There were recorded In this research data for the following variables:
temperature values on the celling (WIC), bellow the ceiling (IT), on the superior tile (ST)
and on the inferior tile (IT), the dry bulb, wet bulb and black globe temperatures and wind
speed. Based on the collected data, temperature behavior for the reduced models WIC and
WOC was evaluated through the following bioclimatic Indexes: temperature and humidity
index (TH1), index of black globe temperature and humidity (IBGTU) and thermal load
radiation (TLR). Under the conditions of the work that was carried out, and based on the
obtained results, it can be concluded that the presence of EVA celling provides thermal
comfort inside the facilities.
