Understanding people's perceptions concerning litter in the rural community of Cumaru. Interviews were conducted with 20 residents in April 2011. The conversation was recorded in the field notebook. I asked the locals what is trash? What makes household waste? Created hypothetical situations and talking I asked if you're on the street need to play a role outside what does? Includes broader questions such as: garbage poses problems for the community? What? What can we do to reduce waste in our house that is played in the environment? And finished with questions regarding reuse and recycling: What is reuse? You reuses materials? What? What is recycling? The research results, we recognize that people know that garbage is a problem, but some have no interest in solving blaming the public power seen that the residents of Cumaru are confused on the concepts of recycling and reusing what somehow is expected. However, there are people like the professor and retired people who are transiting in other areas and know the concepts and recognize the needs of the community.
