Résumé:
The proposes of this work is to study numerically the heavy oil flow in submerged risers,
catenary type, using core-flow technique and ANSYS CFX 13®. The transient and nonisothermal
mathematical model considers free surface model to describe two-phase flow
(water-heavy oil) by considering laminar flow for heavy oil and turbulent flow to water
phase (k-s turbulence model). Results of velocity, pressure, temperature and volumetric
fraction distribution was presented and analyzed. The pressure drop of 3,34 times more
than that obtained in a single phase flow (heavy oil) based on the total pressure. This lower
value when compared with the available in the literature, was attributed to the presence of
regions of adherence along catenary surface and the high viscosity of the produced water
used in the simulation.
