Resumen:
In mobile communications channels, the multipath environment can strongly degrade
the quality of signals at the receiver. This phenomenon changes the received
signal strength and it is usually called fading.
Channel coding techniques together with diversity transmitting schemes are used
to protect the transmitted information in order to minimizing the destructive effects
of the multipath propagation.
In this work, the performance of some systems that use wavelet channel coding
is studied. The performance of such systems are obtained over additive white Gaussian
noise (AWGN) channels or fiat fading channels. Additionally, the impact of the
Doppler effect on the system performance is evaluated. Simulation results show that
this novel technique should be suitable for combating the effects of fading in mobile
communications channels.
