Resumo:
The teaching of geography has a strong connection with maps, since its constitution as a science, is articulated in the making of maps, in the characterization and study of different spaces. This work aims to study indicators and applications of spatial analysis in the elaboration of an educational geographical atlas of the immediate region of Sousa-PB. A set of geographic indicators was used for its 13 municipalities, namely: illiteracy, years of schooling, out-of-school children, households without elementary school, households in vulnerability without elementary school, school delay, school attendance rate elementary school, complete elementary school - 1991-2010 and net attendance, as well as geoenvironmental and population data. The adopted methodology deals with the Jenks breaking technique, in the QGIS 3.4.10 program, and methods developed by Martinelli in which it deals with the elaboration of thematic maps. An educational geographical atlas was elaborated using data from UNDP, IBGE and SIDRA. The result brings a qualitative and quantitative approach with the analysis of a dataset in tables of the situation of each of the municipalities, spatialized through thematic maps. In this material we have, as an attachment, silent maps so that the school teacher can use the tables in the body of work, so that his students can make their own maps. In addition, as a final result of this work, an Educational Geographic Atlas with explanatory texts, silent maps and 23 Thematic Maps was elaborated.
