Abstract:
Nowadays, we are living in the digital era. Every day, we encounter new technological artifacts to be used in our daily lives. The mobile technologies tend to replace printed materials especially books. In education the main purpose of the use of tablets in classrooms is to enable interactivity and collaboration between students and teachers, enriching the educational system. In Brazilian schools, the use of tablets is still in experimental stage. This qualitative work is a case study, in which we analyze the admission of this new technological tool – tablets – in the lives of the students and teachers from the Escola Estadual de Ensino Fundamental e Médio Professor Lordão, Picuí, PB. We conducted questionnaires with teacher and students of the 1st grade of the Ensino Médio in three educational models. The results showed that although there are difficulties in the use of tablets, this resource is very promising in the school context.
