Résumé:
Works on feeding habits of frogs in the biome caatinga is of great importance, since back important information about key aspects of its ecological niche. This study has analyzed the diet of the city of Rhinella jimi Cuite, state of Paraiba, during periods of rain and drought of 2011. The arrested were identified in the categories of taxonomic order. The R. jimi diet is composed mainly of arthropods, the insects being the most important group. We also found plant debris, soil and stones in the stomachs analyzed. The principal component analysis indicated as beetles (78%) and ants (5%) as the most important classes of prey. The results also indicated a significant difference in prey availability between the periods analyzed, with a greater abundance of prey during the wet season. It follows that R. jimi has a generalist diet with increased consumption of beetles and ants, though not tested the selectivity for these types of prey.
