Résumé:
Desalination has been one of the supply of drinking water alternativesto benefit the
communities diffused in the semiarid regions of Northeast Brazilian. However,
monitoring the membrane system is necessary. This work aims monitoring the
desalter of Urugu Community - PB, in terms of measured variables, analysis physicalchemical
and microbiological. The system monitoring was realized during the period
of August 2011 to February 2012. The maintenance monitoring was based on the
chemical cleaning system, the time for that maintenance has been indicated by
analysis of pressures, flow rates, yields, the salt concentration and the presence of
microorganisms. The well water that feeds the membranes system possessesl .842,1
mg/L of dissolved crystal rock salts, which is a prominent feature into the semi-arid
aquifer, resulting in Langelier saturation index above zero. The silt and density index
and was a major indicator for maintenance and replacement of the system's filters.
