Resumen:
In Brazil, the amount of generated solid wastes is of approximately 120 thousand
tons a day, what means a superior average of 1,0 kg for inhabitant a day, from which 88%
are being deposited on open sky, causing environmental, sanitary, economic and social
several order problems.
In the 21s t century, with a population of 170 million people, from which half
concentrated on metropolitan areas and urban agglomerates, generating residues daily.
The great challenge of the Municipal Administrations, is to develop models
Administration Urban Solid Residues Administration that contemplate actions in the
institutional, administrative, operational, economic and environmental aspects that need
to be consolidated population participation.
The managing of the services of urban cleaning demands the application and
handling of the best techniques in the search for the best service installment to the
community, embracing its political and social aspects and involving a complex
interdisciplinar relationship between the public power and the citizen, using compatible
technologies with the local reality.
Therefore the definition of an adequate model of Administration of Solid
Residues and its respective management becomes extremely necessary in the search of a
better life quality to the citizen.
