Resumo:
This research focuses on sexism in gender relations in the school environment and discusses how gender relations are constituted in the school environment through the development of sexist education.With the general objective: to understand how sexist education is constituted in gender relations in the school environment. And as specific: 1) Analyze the relationships between girls and boys in the school environment; 2) Investigate how and how sexist education is present in the school environment; 3) Identify which factors substantiate sexism. Discussing through the theoretical framework the conceptualization of the word gender and the studies developed on this theme, also bringing a brief historical background on discussions about gender and gender relations in education, as well as their inclusion and the effort to remove them from official documents governing and standardizing national education. The methodological approach had as a research method the qualitative approach and the technical procedure used was ethnography, and it was used as data collection instruments: field diary and semi-structured interview and as a technique the observation. The field study was carried out at an elementary school located in Lavras da Mangabeira - CE, in the class of the first year “A” of the afternoon shift, which had a total of 23 (twenty three) students. 13 (thirteen) girls and 10 (ten) boys. The paper concludes that the experiences in the family, school and social environment contribute to the reproduction of defined behavior patterns for girls and boys, which were transmitted through culture throughout history, thus culminating in the naturalization of these patterns. Such models remain to the present day constituted in our culture and are disseminated daily. Being reproduced and fed back naturally and quietly at school.
