Resumo:
This work aimed to adapt a hybrid approach for evaluating the usability of desktop applications to mobile ones. It combines (i) standard conformity assessment; (ii) performance measurement; and (iii) user satisfaction measurement, as the original approach. The approach focused mainly on the last two strategies as well as on the evaluation settings and techniques employed in the evaluation process. Its validation consisted of a case study involving the usability evaluation of an Internet tablet device. This case study supports the presentation of the proposed evaluation method as well as the discussion of the impact of device mobility on the evaluation results. In this research, device mobility was the focal aspect of the study and was analysed through the comparison between the laboratory and field evaluation.
