Resumen:
Factors such as urban sprawl, lack of damage control, aging systems, modifications and
expansions not covered, high operating costs, in addition to uncertainties associated with
difficult operating conditions, making it a set of processes increasingly complex and
problematic, resulting in unmet demand in quantity and quality, non-compliance with
minimum pressures of supply and operational efficiency and without energy. In this paper,
diagnosis system was developed to supply the city of Campina Grande (SACG), with the aim
of supporting the improvement of management system. This improvement comprises:
satisfying the demand of supply, reduce operating cost energy, reduce the number of on / off
power for pumps and valves, reducing water losses and seek efficient operational
procedures. The research consisted of examining detailed operational information and
registration data of the whole system and computational modeling, by EPANET. it was noted
the need to implement the rehabilitation plan and network of predictive and preventive
maintenance for the operational units, it was found that you can set schedule for the daily
operational SACG, given the criteria and reducing the hydraulic energy costs, it was felt that
currently are not allowed to operate the system without the operation of the lift station-
Gravaia at peak hours (17:30 PM to 20:30 PM), but it would be possible with reduced demand
from 5% with practices to reduce physical loss and improvements in micro-measurement. The
preventive maintenance activities can be carried out in the morning and last for two hours,
will not harm the system. It was found that even.the system being operated in its extremes to
meet demand, operating through the diagnostic procedures can be defined so that the
operation becomes more efficient and more economical.
