Resumen:
Many ways to think about happiness emerged in the contemporary times, whether with the common sense or the academic disciplines, and also through experiences of specific groups. Theses thoughts are expressed through discourses that have diverse constitutions and build different representations. This research revolves around the problematic about how these discourses take place and how these representations are built taking a particular case. That of the teachers from the city of Pombal-PB. This paper analyzes statements of these teachers about happiness to problematize the discourses and representations, paying attention to the temporal space in which these professionals exercised and still exercise as historical and educational beings: from the 1980s to the year 2018. We used an oral history methodology to conduct interviews with teachers and used their discourse as the main sources of the study. We also have a fundamental contribution of bibliographic texts, such as books, articles, theses and dissertations, as well as official documents such as the "PEC of Happiness" (19/2010) and the U.S. Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776). The historiographic perspective adopted is based on Cultural History, especially in the History of Sensitivities, areas that enabled us to analyse theoretically and historically the feelings considering their historical and social contexts. In conclusion, we take the proposals of Roger Chartier (1990) to understand the concept of “representation” and Cultural History that encompasses this problem; Sandra Jatahy Pesavento (2007) to think of Sensitivities in an analytical perspective and feelings as historical problems; and Michel Pêcheux (2010) with the understanding of discourse and analysis of the production of it.
