Resumo:
Althouglt there is a lack of concrete data about this sector, social and economical importance of small scaleagroindustries is considered important. These agroindustriesare considered at a marginal position in Brazilian economy. However, they present certain features that turns them into important issues, as exporting capacities and employment generation. The State has promoted some incentive programs for the establishment of agroindustrial enterprises as an attempt to promote the agroindustrialization. Althought the survival level of these enterprises is considered low, these programs seems also an important alternative. Economical sustainability analysis applied to this sector has faced barriers since there isn’t a wide spread information system. The data about the interprises and its evaluation in this country are poor. So, this lack of information reduce theis efficiency and consists in a barrier for growning and sustainability research. In this contest, small scaled agroindustries characterization and its rule in the agribusiness represent the first step in direction of sustainability research development.
