Ademar Vidal e a produção de uma paraibanidade cultural a partir dos estudos folclóricos (1941-1949).

Abstract

This research aims to problematize the performance and production of folklorist Ademar Vidal, from his contact with the Brazilian Folkloric Movement, in the first half of the twentieth century, which brought together several intellectuals concerned with systematizing folk studies and the elaboration of a local identity as well as a national identity. Thus, we intend to approach the elaboration of paraiban cultural identity in the work of folklorist Ademar Vidal, between 1941 and 1949. Time clipping is based on the thematic direction of its production to cultural studies, as well as participation in the Brazilian Folklore Society, in the founding and presidency of the Paraiban Folklore Society. Thus, for an understanding of the production and performance of these groups, we use the sources the bibliographical revision about the Movement and the Vidalian folklore, as well as changed correspondences with Luis da Camera Cascudo about its folklore/cultural production. For this, in the methodological view, we start from the discourse analysis with Michel Foucault (1996). Historiographic discussions are based on the perspective of Cultural History with Peter Burke (2005). Conceptually, we discuss about the intellectual with Angela de Castro Gomes and Patrícia Santos Hansen (2016) and Sirinelli (2003); popular culture with Martha Abreu (2003); identity from Stuart Hall (2006); and folklore with Albuquerque Junior (2013).
