Resumen:
The overexploitation of groundwater has been identified as one of the serious
environmental problems in the world today. The fact is that this type of water
has been used in several human activities such as agriculture. The danger of
this action is in the persistence of old paradigms about the participation of such
water in the hydrological cycle, which have separated from the groundwater
surface, which can not be conceivable, since there is a close link between them,
which justifies the need for integrated management, based in the
hydrogeological knowledge of the areas where these types of water occur
simultaneously, in addition to applying the principles and instruments of
National policy of water resources(Law 9.433/97). In that sense, this paper
aims to propose two models (revenue collection and economic) to support
decision making in the implementation of the instrument of charging for the use
of groundwater resources in the coastal sedimentary basin Hydrographic
Region of the Lower Course of the River Paraiba. To achieve these objectives
data were collected hydrogeological, climatic, socioeconomic and uses of water
resources throughout the area. Were made comparative analysis of results with
revenue collection and economic models, as well as verification of possible
impacts of charging on the various uses.
