The present study has as main objective to analyze characteristics of the transport of the
water vapor of climatological of the Amazon region toward the Center West, South and
Southeast of Brazil from data of reanalysis. Thus, a better understanding of the performance of zonal and southern flows with emphasis on a 30-year data climatology
(1987 to 2017). In order to evaluate the transport of water vapor from the Amazon to the
South and Southeast regions of Brazil from 1988 to 2017 three "cuts" were taken at
latitudes of 15 °, 20 ° and 25 ° S between the meridians of 70 ° a 45 ° W, denominated
Areas 1, 2 and 3. Aspects of the seasonal and interannual variation of these flows were
evaluated, and it was sought to correlate with the precipitation of pre-defined south and
southeast regions. Monthly data from reanalysis of the global model National Center for
Environmental Prediction (NCEP-NCAR) for 30 years of data (1988 to 2017) were used.
The results showed that in the majority of the analyzes the vertical flow of water vapor
was quite satisfactory, showing a good correlation with the precipitation of the southern
and southeastern regions of Brazil, as well as showing that the majority of moisture
transport passes through the Amazon happens from north to south.
