Resumen:
Water scarcity is the subject of many discussions around the world and identifying a solution that meets the interests of society but with little or no environmental impact is a major challenge to be met. This challenge provokes the entire academic community, but the biggest challenge is to export from universities to the effective ones responsible for acting in the environmental protection, like the Public Prosecution Service, techniques that support the daily life of their functional life. Problem: Therefore, it is possible to use a quantitative criterion, statistically based, that helps the Public Prosecutor of Paraíba, more precisely the 2nd District Attorney of Cajazeiras-PB to act in the preservation of available water resources, such as the Lagoa do Arroz Reservoir, in the region where it is inserted? Rationale: The research developed here is justified by the need to propose technical support that assists the action of the Ministerial Body in the preservation of water resources and the population affected by it. General objective: Thus, the research aims to present a statistical method that helps the 2nd Cajazeiras District Attorney's Office to follow the water reservoirs of the region covered by it, taking as reference the behavior of the Lagoa do Arroz water reservoir from 2008 to 2015, Specific Objectives: to identify a drought index and make comparisons with the volumetric behavior of the reservoir and then with the macro factors of water consumption (human, animal and agricultural consumption), verifying the viability of its use. criterion by the Public Prosecutor of Paraíba. Quantitative, documentary and deductive methods were used to perform the work, since it was sought through data collection in formal documents, to perform mathematical calculations that demonstrated the effectiveness in identifying a drought index and comparing it with occurrence of rainfall in the Lagoa do Arroz reservoir area between 2008 and 2015, comparing it with the indicators of human, livestock and agricultural consumption, in order to identify the need for action of the 2nd Cajazeiras Prosecutor. Results: After the analysis it was observed that the Standardized Precipitation Indez Index (SPI) was the one that best met the criteria established in the research developed here, because it was possible to make a comparison with the water stock behavior of the Lagoa do Arroz Reservoir, in a standard 12-month cycle, between 2008 and 2015, as well as comparing it with the other consumption factors (human, livestock and agricultural), and it was found in the research that the water stock of the Lagoa do Arroz reservoir does not It is consistent with the inventory proposed by the rainfall behavior of the period and with the consumption indicators, suggesting the need for action by the Public Prosecution Service.
