Abstract:
In the twentieth century, health care for the female audience was limited to care during pregnancy and childbirth, unfulfilled they began fighting to be assisted during all stages of their lives, through this scenario of struggles women were able to be seen as subjects of rights whose needs surpassed the puerperal pregnancy moment and due to these claims today has access to comprehensive care. This assistance provides access to all levels of health care, ie primary, secondary and tertiary levels, in order to ensure quality care, effective and in accordance with each need. The objective of this study was to evaluate the profile of hospitalizations performed in the area of women's health in a University Hospital. It was a descriptive, exploratory, epidemiological and retrospective study, with a quantitative approach and documentary character. The study was conducted at the Júlio Maria Bandeira de Mello University Hospital, in the city of Cajazeiras, Paraíba. The sample consisted of 80 records of women attended at the specialized outpatient service of the health service, registered at BI and AGHU from August 2018 to August 2019. Data were stored in a Microsoft Office Excel 2003 spreadsheet and Microsoft Word (2010) was used to tabulate and make tables, which were analyzed using simple descriptive statistics. The research continued respecting the ethical aspects present in Resolution No. 466/12. The present study showed that there was a predominance of women aged 30 to 40 years followed by 41 to 51 years, white, married and with incomplete elementary school, prevailing hospitalizations in the gynecological area, whose most prevalent diagnoses were ovarian cysts, Endometrial glandular hyperplasia and polyp of the body of the uterus. Through research, it is noticeable that the gynecological specialty has a high percentage of care / hospitalizations, demonstrating the importance of specialized service for the population. Therefore, it is expected that the present study provides the improvement and qualification of assistance in secondary and primary health care.
