Resumen:
This work aimed to optimize the analytical methodology slowdown by ion exchange chromatography of water from the well named, for convenience, as "Well 1", conducting a study through the evaluation of physicochemical properties of the sample (pH, conductivity and hardness) and the performance of the regeneration of the resin filling the chromatographic column, in its treatment. For pH measurements, we used a digital potentiometer, pH METER MODEL and the conductance was analyzed by a digital conductivity Mca 150. In determining the total hardness of the sample, we used the volumetric complexation with EDTA solution and complexometric titration. Before passing through the ion exchange resin, the results obtained for the measurement of pH (5.56), indicating a considerable acidity of the samples, indicates non-compliance with the standards established by CONAMA Resolution 357/2005 (NATIONAL COUNCIL THE ENVIRONMENT), which states that water intended for human consumption and supply, should have pH in the range 6.0 to 9.0. The conductivity of the sample was 181.85 mS. In relation to the hardness, the sample is classified as a sample of medium hardness, with 70, 063 mg CaCO3 / L. After passing through the ion exchange resin, regenerated with alkaline solution, the pH of the sample has an alkaline character, accompanied by a decrease in conductivity and an effective slowing down of water, which began to show a hardness, carbonate ions from close to zero.
