Resumo:
The present work deals with channel lining, equates the parameters necessary for the dimensioning of the lining, provides essential elements for project execution and describes the various types of coverings currently used. Establishes a laboratory methodology to characterize soils, additives and stabilized soils for the construction of channel lining and to evaluate the lining
for its erodibility and permeability. In the review, it is shown that the hydraulic parameters, of erosibility and permeability, are the basis for understanding the projects and evaluating the channel coverings. The design bases are reviewed: layout, sub-bed, cuts, embankments, water velocity, roughness, thickness, joints and free edge, and among other techniques are described those of soil coverings, soil-stabilized, concrete, surfaces rigid, exposed and buried membranes. The characterization methodology allows; classify the soil by its compactability and susceptibility to water;
know elements to infer the behavior of the soil and stabilized soil and; indicate contents of cement and / or lime necessary for stabilization; assess erosion resistance
and the permeability in stretches of channels; indicate a stable coating.
