Resumo:
In this work a rapidly solidified ribbon of AgCuTi was developed to be used as filler
metal in ceramic/metal joining using active brazing metal process. The ribbons, with
thickness of approximately 100 pm and width of 3 mm, was obtained by using the melt
spinning technique and characterized for structural investigation by X-Ray and scanning
electron microscopy (SEM). To evaluate the influence of the ceramic surface, the brazing was
done using as sintered, sanded and polished ceramic surfaces. The samples were brazed in
high vacuum furnace. The microchemical and structural analysis of the samples was
accomplished by optical microscopy (OM) and SEM in the interface Al203/AgCuTi/FcNiCo.
It was not detected any fails of lack of union between the base materials and filler metal for
all of kind of surface, what indicates a good adherence. Besides, the analysis of the ribbon
obtained by RS presented a more refined and distributed microstructure when compared with
ribbon obtained by conventional process.
