Abstract:
This paper analyzes how the mass media reproduces the cases of violence against women and their influence on their lives in the Paraíba backlands. This paper discusses violence in its various aspects and typologies, and how it arises in women's lives, the relationship of romanticization in which abusive relationships are involved. The influence of the media on the conception of this type of violence is highlighted, and how the media can contribute to the end of this violence, as well as help in the maintenance of these violent acts. A study was conducted, through a bibliographic and documentary collection exposed throughout the work, about the laws and their recommendations, namely the Maria da Penha Law of No. 11,340 / 06, which provides for penalties for violence against women. , and the changes that occurred after the approval of this law, as well as the variants that hinder its applicability. An analysis was also made of the cases of violence against women reported by the websites: Diário do Sertão, Reporter Pb and Sertão Informed. The purpose is to discuss how the media reproduces news aimed at women, which seeks to justify this type of violence, as well as to draw attention to the importance of the relationship between violence and the media and its effects on the lives of women. suffered or suffer some kind of violence.
