Resumo:
The objective of this work was to determine the productivity and economic return of
coriander (Coriandrum sativum) and lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.), conducted in
monoculture (single) and polyculture (intercropped), with three (Co3 and Al3) and
four ( Co4 and Al4) plant rows per bed. The average fresh mass production of
coriander plants in monoculture did not differ significantly since the fresh mass
production of plants under single cultivation and with four rows per bed increased
significantly by 1.24 t ha-1 (41.06 %) in relation to production under three lines (3.02
t ha-1). The same was not observed for lettuce (2.23 t ha-1 (93.69%). Equivalent area
ratios (RAE) for coriander and lettuce intercrops were higher by 32.88% (Co3Al4)
and 14, respectively. 53% (Co3Al4) in relation to single crops For the lettuce grower,
both consortia were economically viable, but Co3Al4 could have induced the highest
total gain (R $ 8105.69), being higher than the other consortium in R $. 4,153.63.
