Sexually Transmitted Infections are considered major public health problem that come spreading for decades, where all social groups of any age are likely to acquire some of these infections, whether they are transmitted either directly or indirectly. Are transmitted, most of the times, by means of sexual contact (oral, vaginal, anal) without the use of the male condom or female, with a person who is already infected. This study becomes relevant for addressing and working through acts of education the knowledge of young adults about sexually transmitted infections, since the same is still experienced as a taboo between them. The present study aimed to the achievement of educational actions in pursuit of the empowerment of young adults about the prevention of sexually transmitted infections. It is a descriptive study of a qualitative approach and mediated by the action research. This study was conducted with students in the third year of secondary school of education of young adults in the State School education, primary and secondary Bishop Moses Coelho, located in the city of Cajazeiras-PB. It was used as a method of analysis of the discourse of the Collective Subject. This study began through the approval in the Committee of Ethics and Research under the opinion nº 3,412.870. This study followed four steps for its implementation, the first being the situational diagnosis in which elencou all needs and problems shrouded the definition, transmission, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections. In the second stage, was the planning of educational actions in accordance with the findings. In the third step, was the implementation of the planned actions, in which aimed to remedy all the needs and problems encountered. The last and fourth stage, was the evaluation of the actions implemented, which was expressed as positive by young adults in their speeches after interventions. Finally, it was possible to identify that the educational interventions reached the objectives proposed in this study, allowing greater aggregation of knowledge in young adults about sexually transmitted infections.
