Resumo:
The present study addresses the sharing of experiences and knowledge of pregnant women about breastfeeding through educational activities. This is a descriptive qualitative study conducted through the methodology of action research. First, a semi-structured interview was conducted with pregnant women from the Basic Health Unit studied in order to identify the situational diagnosis and later, the Collective Subject Discourse was used to analyze these interviews. Therefore, the planning and implementation of educational activities was developed as a possibility of solving for problems evidenced in situational diagnosis. With this study it was possible to observe that pregnant women have a great knowledge of the benefits of breast milk for their child, but present deficit when it comes to the benefits for themselves. Moreover, as much as it is an ancient practice, they still believe that their milk is not enough to support the baby, adding to this, the policies and rights that ensure these women are still little disseminated and the mere fact of returning to their routine it usually leads to early weaning, causing frustration for the mother and suffering an impact on the growth and development of the child. Therefore, three interventions were planned with the use of active methodologies that provided the interaction of those involved to facilitate the construction of knowledge that gave rise to the fourth phase of the study, which is the evaluation of actions. Therefore, it was possible to observe that the use of educational actions presents positive repercussions in the construction of knowledge, because it allows the individuals involved to exchange experiences, reducing the desires and doubts before a very moment expected for mothers.
