Abstract:
The castor oil bean plant is an oleaginous of economical, and social importance, whose
seeds are extracted an oil of excellent properties of wide industrial use "as input. Currently,
among the various applications of its oil is highlighted employment in the production of
renewable fuel. This experiment, conducted with the purpose of generating information on
the use of organic fertilizers in the primary values of growth and productivity of castor
bean plant, BRS Paraguacu type, was developed in the period July of 2006 to February o f
2007, at field conditions in an area of 2,392 meters, belonging to the Center of Agricultural
Sciences at the Federal University of Paraiba, located in the municipality of Areia- PB. The
experimental design was chosen randomly blocks , with 13 treatments arranged in a
factorial, and three repetitions, which factors were three types of fertilizers, two organic
(manure and castor bean plant pie) and a chemist, all applied in four doses of nitrogen (30,
60, 90 and 120 kg N ha"1) plus a absolute witness. The results showed that the values for
primary growth to cultivate BRS Paraguacu suffered significant influence of fertilization.
There was, in relation to components of the production of 1M raceme, that the greater
length occurred at.fertilization with castor bean plant pie, at the dose of 90 kg N ha"1 for
the quantity of fruit per raceme, weight and quantity of the raceme and seeds per raceme,
the dose was the best of 120 kg N ha"1 of the same fertilizer, for the 2 - raceme, the best
outcomes for the quantity of fruit per raceme and quantity of seeds per raceme, was in
fertilization with cattle manure, at the dose of 60 kg N ha"1; already the highest content of
oil was obtained at a dose 90 kg N ha"1 of the same fertilizer, as they returned to o 3~
raceme the greatest length, with the application of the castor bean plant dose 30 kg N ha"1;
already the largest amount of fruit per raceme and semen, was found with the use of
chemical fertilizer at the rate of 120 kg N ha"1, or 4- to raceme, the fertilization with pie,
provided from the castor bean the greater'length, while the weight of 100 seeds was
influenced by the castor bean and the manure. The supply of fertilizer has increased
significantly the number of racemes and production by plants, the seed yield and the yield
of oil in 45, 67, and 47%, respectively, in relation to the witness.
