Resumo:
The fieldwork allows the approximation between the studied object and the individual,
constituting an important element for the teaching-learning process. The field is an ex-
cellent teaching environment, as it enables a greater understanding and connection of
classroom content with a complex reality, enables greater socialization among students
and streamlines the work of the teacher. This research aims to conduct a discussion
about the contributions of fieldwork as a teaching methodology for geography. The re-
search was developed from a theoretical discourse on the subject, aiming to analyze the
main contributions of the use of geography. fieldwork as a methodology for teaching
geography to facilitate the teaching-learning process. Followed by an experience report
of a fieldwork that was carried out in the municipality of Aparecida-PB where it was
possible to notice the importance of its accomplishment to boost the teaching of geogra-
phy.
